About Sandy Bay

Sandy Bay is a hidden gem tucked into a sheltered cove on the eastern coast of Gibraltar, about a 10-minute walk south of Catalan Bay village. The beach features fine golden sand and clear, shallow waters, making it ideal for families with young children. A section of the beach is closed off for children, and there is a well-priced chiringuito (beach bar) nearby. The sheltered cove creates calm sea conditions, and the natural setting makes it one of the most scenic beaches on the Rock.

Visitor Tips

Quieter and more secluded than Catalan Bay and Eastern Beach.

Shallow, calm waters make it particularly safe for young children.
